The Long Hot Summer Is Here

For the past few days, we’ve been under a heat advisory. The temperatures have been in the 90’s and the heat index has been up to 110°.  Thankfully, we have air conditioning in our water truck while we wait for my husband to reload the spray rig. We also keep a cooler full of water and sports drinks iced down.

Our dog, George has been going to work with us, and enjoys sitting in the cool truck. He has his own food and water bowls in the extended cab part of the truck. When a pond is nearby, we let him out to take a dip.  Here is George below in a video swimming in a pond recently.

Stay cool my friends. If you have to be out in this horrific heat, stay hydrated. Check up on your elderly family and friends as well as your furry friends.

Blessings to y’all!

Joshua 1:9  (KJV)

9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

Here’s What’s Happening at Grover’s Manse

It’s been quite awhile since my last post.  Actually a long, long time!  I didn’t fall of the face of the earth my dear and faithful readers. I promise!

We have been working long hours and haven’t had the chance for much of anything else. We were so worried with all the rainfall earlier in March, we would never get back to work. Although the rain has returned, we are welcoming the time off to stop and smell the roses. No. Really. I’ve got four rose bushes and I’ve been snapping pictures and sniffing the roses!  Ah, what heavenly scents, too. Here are my rose bushes below.

I’ve also got lavender, lemon balm, petunias, mums, tropical cannas, and oodles of other plants and flowers. I guess I get most excited about my roses and go hog wild taking pictures of those!

We are still trying to complete homeschool lessons between working with my husband and catching up on housework. We are in no hurry. That’s the freedom and beauty of homeschooling, especially homeschooling while working in your family’s business.

I cannot forget our dog, George!  He has been going to work with us and is having a ball.  We just couldn’t bear to leave him home alone all day, so back into the workforce he goes!  He’s such a hoot as you can see in the pictures below. He honestly refuses to ride in truck beds. It’s either the backseat or his most favorable place, the front. He is such a backseat driver, too. He barks when we get passed by other vehicles and barks when we pass them.  He mainly loves hanging his head out the window, with the wind whipping through his fur. Such a spoiled dog!

George has such a “ruff” life!

I guess that’s about it for now. I’ve got laundry to do, floors to mop and meals to cook. I’m also praying for the ground to dry out soon.  We do indeed need a break, but not for too long!

May your day be blessed!

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.

Wacky Weather and Winter Blues

I’ve had the winter blues and cabin fever.  Last week, winter revisited us without an invitation!  We got about 8 inches of snow. Needless to say, I was an unhappy camper. Morgan was excited about it, and I think our dog, George enjoyed it, too.  Here are a few pictures of the fun in the snow.

George likes the snow. George approved this message!

Snow. In March. Where is the green grass?

Well folks, another March with snow in Northeast Arkansas. I do not approve!  Presently it’s warmer, but gloomy and rainy. Ugh. I’m ready for spring. Vegetables and flower gardens. Mowing the yard. Enjoying coffee on the front porch while listening to the birds sing.

What do you like about spring?

Verse of the Day

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

Blessings to all!
