Political Musings

I watched the Republican Presidential Primary Debate last night on Fox News. First of all, yes I’m a conservative, Christian woman.  Secondly, I have friends who identify themselves as liberal and or democrats. That’s fine with me. I don’t agree with their stances all of the time, and they don’t always agree with mine. You see, I’m an adult. I can agree to disagree agreeably.

I enjoyed the questions the panelist asked and the candidates responses for the most part. However, I was disappointed in Megyn Kelly. I believe she tried to pull the “man vs. woman card” out to Donald Trump.   Now please, hear me out. I am a woman. I can roar with the best of them. I’m just no longer in kindergarten. Our debates shouldn’t be about color versus color or man versus woman.  We need to all pull together as a nation to fix an enormous amount of problems.   I’m sick and tired of this and that card being pulled because someone doesn’t like something. I personally do not agree with abortion, illegal immigration, or Obamacare. My list of dislikes is a ton bigger than those three I’ve mentioned.  I’m not running around in circles wildly screaming, “I am a white woman!  This or that has offended me!”

Back to the debate…I personally liked most all of the candidates and their ideas to help this great nation of ours get back on track.  I do not need celebrities, opposing politicians throwing mud, or news anchors deciding who I need to vote for. I listen to the candidates and make my own assessment and decisions. We, as a nation of men, women of all races and color need to be informed well enough to make our own decisions not based by who our favorite actor likes, or our best friend’s choice.  Personally, I’m praying about it. I pray daily for those in office now. Nationwide. Worldwide.

And that folks, is my political rant and or soapboxing for the day!

Blessings to y’all!

1 Timothy 2:1-2 KJV

1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

2  For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
